Send Me

Then I heard the Lord asking, "Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me."

Isaiah 6:8

I will. I’ll go. Send me.

This response was a result of Isaiah’s willingness to be available for God’s purpose and plans. What a mindset! The interesting and mind-blowing thing about this exchange was that Isaiah didn’t know many details (when, where, how) and certainly didn’t know the content of the message, but he signed up anyway. That definitely takes a LOT of trust.

We already gave God our “Yes” to His calling on our lives to be in this profession. However, when we face “Will you go?” or “Will you do?” moments in coaching, we have choices: to say yes or no, to trust or not, or to go begrudgingly or with a willing spirit. In being willing, we sign up for God’s plan of being His messenger to the people put in our lives and along our journey. When we continue to give God our “yes,” we sign up for whatever He has for us to say or do.

One big example of this is when we change coaching positions. In our profession, relocating is inevitable. How often have we had to move ourselves, and often our families, to a new job and area? Without question, at least a few times… (and, if it hasn’t happened yet, we can pray for strength for when it does!). The great thing is that God rarely has us enter a new position completely blind to the details. What a relief! However, the message to deliver is not always laid out for us, but we know that by moving, there will be open doors to give the message of love and hope to those around us.

He inevitably creates other opportunities to be messengers on a daily basis IF we are willing. A player has a bad practice and a “Send Me” attitude delivers an encouraging word. A recruiting trip pops up last minute and a scheduling rearrangement puts us on the road unexpectedly, so a “Send Me” attitude goes and realizes the reason was for a Divine appointment along the way.

So, however many times in a day a “Who should I send?” comes up, know that we are called to have the willing “I will. I’ll go. Send me” attitude. God has our “Yes” so always remember, God has both the message and all the details figured out already. Just be willing and know that you can always trust Him. It’ll be great!

Have a wonderful day, and be a messenger this week!
