Happy Thanksgiving to you!! I have anxiously awaited sending an email to you, and what better time than today to send one! By now, we are settling into the pattern of the new season, and for many of us, into the rhythm of our new positions! Deep thankfulness overflows for this group of amazing coaches as you radically impact lives and advance the Kingdom daily! Your presence here on earth is of the utmost value, and today is a great day to express the gratitude that sometimes goes unsaid, but never unnoticed, for our Father sees all!
Today is a day that has been earmarked to perpetuate the tradition of giving thanks to God for his mercy, grace, and favor, which we do with full hearts and words of thanksgiving on our lips. If there is one person in the Bible who understood doing this as a “lifestyle of gratitude,” it would be David.
In looking at David’s life, he definitely had his times of ups and downs, but what remains consistent with him is his heart of gratitude that would manifest in song, dance, praise, and thanksgiving to our Maker. Think Psalms 9:1, “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
Even in his final days, David’s attitude of gratitude can be seen in one of the last blessings he prayed before he passed away can be found in 1 Chronicles 29:10-13—
“…Blessed are you, O Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now, we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.”
What a great model of giving praise back to our God for all that He has done for us, and for all that He has provided for us! David acknowledged in this prayer the ability to have supernatural greatness and strength. We are fully equipped to walk the path God has designed specifically for each and every one of us, with ALL joy, power, victory, and blessings with DIVINE strength. It is my prayer for us today to be filled fresh and anew with strength to not only thrive as the grind of the season continues, but to have great strength of heart and mind to walk in a daily attitude of gratitude that mirrors that of David and leaves a lifestyle of gratitude as part of our legacy!
Enjoy all of your DAYS of thanks! God Bless!
